CYBERABAD : మార్గదర్శక్ 14వ బ్యాచ్ & సంఘమిత్ర 4వ బ్యాచ్
The SCSC Women’s Forum launched the 14th training batch of Margadarshak and 4th Batch of Sanghamitra today (15th Nov 2024). More than 120 participants from 16 organisations of HSBC, Innominds, Infosys, Corteva, Dr.Reddy’s, Berkadia, TCS, Air India, Telangana IT&C Dept, All India Radio, etc along with 25 Gated Communities and apartments participated in the day long important programme which covered empathy training, listening skills, Eco system of police, cyber crimes etc.
This is a 6 week programme which will conclude on the 13th of December 2024. Overview of the Programme Margadarshaks are volunteers from organizations who are trained by the police and SCSC women forum team. They are equipped with information and knowledge about the various aspects of the law, of redressal mechanism, process and procedures of seeking professional help, has access to resources to help people in time of need/distress.
They will – a. Provide information on the various procedures and processes involved in reporting the matter to the concerned authorities and help the person in distress take an informed decision , b. Facilitate consultations with the police and provide an avenue for navigating through the law enforcement system , c. Provide information on legal services, counselling services, public and private schemes such as Shelter Homes, Medical Aid, Legal aid etc. d. Offer emotional support by creating a nurturing environment.
Margadarshak 4.0 / Sanghamitra 2.0 – Hybrid version (6 weeks including Online sessions + in person field visits to Cyber Cell, Women’s Police Station, Bharosa Centres, SHE teams etc followed by a post assessment) - • Certification Programme (Participation certificate will be given) , • 4 weeks - Field Visits , • 2 weeks – Capacity Building and refresher sessions , • Final certification (Certified as Margadarshak/ Sanghamitra) , Nominations were invited form organisations and interested individulas who would like to serve especially women in distress.
About 122 nominees were administered an online pre-assessment to understand their individual strengths, psychological and emotional capabilities, ability to respond empathetically and non-judgmentally. 120 nominees from 16 organisations and Gated Communities were qualified in the pre-assessment and were selected to undergo the training programme. After a 6 week training period, participants are expected to go back and serve within their organisations and the society. Ms.Srujana Karnam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women and Child Safety Wing - Cyberabad Police, Ms.Mamatha Madireddy, Jt. Secretary for SCSC Women’s Forum, Ms.Vishnupriya Saksena, Lead Margadarshak & Sanghamitra Sanghamitra Programme, Ms.Harsha, Ms.Sonia, Ms.Malathi, Ms.Sneha, SI, Cyber Cell, Cyberabad,Lalita Tims, SCSC Secretariat, Ms.Pearl, Ms.Archie, representing an NGO were part of the launch programme and addressed the trainees.
The Women’s Forum is committed to empower, educate and enable women specifically employees in IT organizations, to manage and respond effective to issues of safety and security. It provides a platform for the Industry and Police to engage on issues related to women safety and security to make this a great and safe place for women to work and live in.
About SCSC : Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) is a joint collaboration between Cyberabad Police Commissionerate, the IT sector and industry verticals in Cyberabad. This unique initiative was started with the objective to promote safety & security in the Cyberabad IT corridor and reduce crime, thereby making Hyderabad the preferred IT destination. The Council gives high priority to the Personal safety, particularly Women Safety, IT infrastructure safety, Traffic safety, Cyber safety and Information security, so that the business continuity takes place in healthy living environment.
