Cyberabad Police News : Cyberabad Traffic Police (CTP) held a coordination meeting with online food delivery and bike taxi platforms today., ( 20.01.2025) at the Cyberabad CP Office Mini Conference Hall. The meeting, chaired by Jt. CP Traffic D. Joel Davis, IPS, addressed issues related to traffic violations by delivery personnel operating in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate jurisdiction.

It was observed that delivery gig workers often violate traffic rules to meet tight deadlines, with common offenses including riding without helmets, rash driving, wrong-way driving, drunken driving, and unauthorized parking. These violations have led to non-fatal accidents and fatalities involving delivery personnel.

To address these concerns, the Jt. CP emphasized the need for delivery platforms to conduct regular road safety sessions for their workers. He also assured that Cyberabad Traffic Police would organize Traffic Safety Training Workshops for operators and staff to enhance awareness.

Key Focus Areas of the Meeting:

Monitoring Traffic Violations:

Delivery platforms will actively track and address traffic rule violations by riders to ensure compliance with road safety norms.

Drunk Driving (DD) Checks:

Mandatory alcohol checks will be conducted at the start and end of delivery personnel’s shifts to prevent impaired driving.

Penalty and Reward System:

Violators will face penalties such as reduced assignments, lower incentives, and possible termination for repeated offenses.

Riders with good records will be rewarded with higher incentives and recognition to encourage safe behavior.

Resolving Traffic Violations:

Delivery platforms and riders will collaborate with authorities to resolve traffic violations promptly and foster accountability.

Other recommendations included implementing GPS-based speed monitoring, AI-enabled violation alerts, and encouraging citizens to report violations through dedicated apps.

This initiative aims to create a safer environment, promote discipline among delivery personnel, and enhance their commitment to road safety.

The meeting was attended by Madhapur Traffic DCP Sai Manohar; Cyberabad Traffic Administrators BNS Reddy and G. Guruvaiah; and Incharges from various online delivery platforms and bike taxi services.
